First Quarter Preview

I'm in the process of re-designing my blog. Bear with me while everything gets shoved all over the place...

With that aside, I do believe I've completely failed at my new year's resolution. I won't make it up by over-posting, but I certainly will bore the death out of you with the next few weeks of updates.

I've been all over the place with my design and photography. I've done a lot of photo-shoots with animals and one for the Brookings Regional Humane Society with "Santa Paws":

I've also been doing a fair amount of website design, many templates for companies who can program but don't want to design and am working with a firm in New York as a contract designer. The experience has been fun and the exposure has been nice (especially the increased flow of income *grin*):

Recently, paper-crafting and card-making has stolen my attention:

And remember about two years ago when I said I had two jobs and loved them both? Yeah, I didn't remember either, but I've been fostering some animals for the humane society and using them as photography subjects. It has been a great experience being a foster mom for other-wise homeless animals. It's not always easy, but it's definitely one of the most rewarding things I've ever done:

Zachary and Audrey Engagement Portraits

New year's resolutions never last past March for me, but here I go with making another resolution for next year: let's see if I can try to keep up with updates on my blog and website....just maybe...

It was a warm and sunny day back in October when I made the journey out to the farm where Audrey grew up. The beautiful weather made for some fun and romantic shots. Zach and Audrey wanted a subtle vintage theme and there was no better place than with the textures and backgrounds that her family's farm provided.

Fun & Fashion Website Design

I started a website design project for a wonderful woman who owned a small bridal shop in Minnesota. Unfortunately I never got to finish the project due to her decision to close down her shop in order to spend more time with her family. Even though the project was never completed, I still thank Mary for giving me the chance to exercise my creativity to create this mockup for her:

Mike Bliss and The Incredible Bliss Brothers

This was a fun, though very rushed, project. The Brookings Regional Humane Society (Brookings, SD, USA) is sponsoring a fund-raising event featuring this talented family. I donated my time to making the promotional material for the event. All included are two different posters with pretty much the same design, just tweaked for different print sizes, and two different tickets (adults and children).

American Muscle - American Love

Talk about a love for the classic: this guy had a great set of wheels! After years serving as his primary vehicle, this 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme would finally retire to the garage for restoration - but not before a glamour shot! His new American beauty is a Ford Escape Hybrid.

Daniel's Senior Portraits

A few months ago I did an outdoor photography shoot for Daniel, a highschool senior, class of 2010. It was a fun shoot that led us all over a 20-mile radius from his home. We were a little bit worried that the autumn leaves weren't going to cooperate with us, but they played nice this year.

The Fine Print

- I understand the need for privacy and respect marketing methods for all of my clients, thus I will not post names or mockups for any of my in-progress clients until designs are made public from their end or a final contract is signed.

- I will not accept gambling, adult/pornographic, pro-animal abuse, pro-child abuse, or any other abusive websites. I reserve the right to decline any design work without specifying my reasons.

- I respect the copyright of other designer’s work and thus cannot create an exact replica of an already existing website. I am, however, able to enhance a design by your own creation or unfinished work that you or your company holds the rights to.

- I will not be held responsible for the consequences of the use of any content or images that the client does not own the rights to. I always use royalty free stock-images or my own graphics when designing.

- I retain the copyright to my designs. My copyright information and/or link must remain in the content unless arrangements are made for else wise.

- I will never ask for personal information without first explaining why the information is being collected and what the information is needed for. I am willing to work with any client with a temporary email address or phone number in order to prevent the transfer of identifying information. I will never ask for social security numbers or personal passwords. I may need access to a hosting server if I am the designated individual to upload website files to the hosting server. This will require me to ask for FTP server access information. Unless required of me by law, any information provided to me is always kept private, is never sold, and is never stored on a public database.

Just Starting Out

Per request, (or to boost my ego: "by popular demand!") I've created this blog as a way to keep in touch with my fan base...okay, so really my "fan base" consists of friends I went to college with and collegues who want to make sure they stay one step ahead of me, just don't tell my ego ;)

I'm going to be spending the next few days posting about the last few months of work. And in fair warning: I work two jobs, both passionately, so I may tend to mix the two. I hope you like animals *grin*.
